because of介词短语，后接名词，代词，动名词（即，动词+ing形式）和what引导的从句；because连词，后跟句子，引导原因状语从句；因此because of与because在句子中不可以互换。
下面我们通过例句来辨析二者的区别。
because of 因为
I can't walk because of my broken leg. 因为我的腿骨折了，所以不能走路。
I just found out that the event has been canceled because of the snow. 我刚得知，由于下雪，活动取消了。
I lost my job because of her. 就因为她，我才丢了工作。
Many couples break up because of a lack of money. 很多情侣分手的原因是没钱。
Because of the heat, the front door was open. 由于太热了，所以前门开着。
He failed because of a lack of money. 他失败是因为资金不足。
I did it because of you .我做那件事情不是因为你。
because因为
I can't go because I am ill.因为我病了，所以去不成。
Because it's so cold we'll go home.因为太冷了，所以我们要回家。
'Why can't you come?' – 'Because I'm too busy.' ‘你为什么不能来？’‘因为我太忙了。’
I couldn't see Elena's expression, because her head was turned. 我看不到埃琳娜的表情，因为她把头转过去了。
Because it's an area of outstanding natural beauty, you can't build on it. 因为这里是著名的自然景观，所以你不可以在这儿施实建造。
They could not obey the command because they had no ammunition. 因为他们没有弹药，所以不服从命令。
I came because you asked me to. 因为你要我来，我才来的。
because he was ill he couldn't go .因为他病了，所以他去不了。
just because he has two cars he thinks he's somebody. 不过是因为他有两辆车，就以为自己很了不起。
注意：
当你在句首用到because时，就不能在第二个分句的开头加类似于“that is why”之类的短语。例如，
你不能说
“Because you have been very ill, that is why you will understand how I feel.”
你只能说
“Because you have been very ill, you will understand how I feel。”
